Raiffeisenbank Urnerland competition | Headquarters in Altdorf

With the design for the new headquarters of Raiffeisenbank Urnerland in Altdorf, Beyond Design AG, in close collaboration with G&A Architekten, succeeded in winning the competition. The concept convinced the jury with an interior architecture that makes the essence of the Urnerland tangible, honest, powerful and at the same time inviting. People are placed at the center. Customers and employees alike should feel comfortable in an atmosphere of trust, openness and genuine encounter. The spaces speak of regional identity and confidence in the future, of a bank that is deeply rooted yet boldly looking ahead. Stone, wood, bronze and textiles form the material foundation, authentic, earthy and warm.

The historic building shell with its massive stone walls remains the bearer of history, while the interior breathes anew through light, glass and refined textures. Transparent and structured glass surfaces create a balance between openness and discretion, between closeness and trust. At the same time, the spatial layout remains flexible and can be further divided or opened as needed. Bronze details add depth and permanence, while textiles make the soft, human side of the Alpine canton perceptible. The result is an architectural balance between the rugged force of the mountains and the sensitive lightness of light, water and movement.

The winning project thus symbolizes a Raiffeisen bank that represents the Urnerland, grounded, filled with light and oriented toward the future.
